"ORAL HISTORY"

At WHAM, we understand the power of storytelling and its ability to bring people together. This Oral History Series is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the art of spoken word and to experience history in a whole new way. The premier showing will feature the amazing stories produced by Vicki Hunt and filmed and edited by Nicholas Serpa.

A note from Vicki ---

I sincerely hope each of you will be able to come and experience personally what a taste there exists in Peoria for preserving its history by telling the story of those who lived it. Vicki

Vicki Hunt, a prominent Peoria figure, and a member of the WHAM Board of Directors, passed away on July 25th. A native Arizonan, Vicki contributed to the public good for over four decades.  A High School English Teacher, a business owner, sixteen years as a Peoria city council member and more recently the creator of “Story Bridges” an oral history project interviewing longtime residents and preserving stories of Peoria’s unique past.

This fourth presentation of the Vicki Hunt series, Story Bridges, shows us the love and respect that she had for this community and for those who helped to build it into the thriving area that we all now enjoy.
